How the assistant handles special requests
When a caller asks to change a dish, the assistant does one of four things: just adds it, charges extra, says no, or flags it for you to check. Listen to each, then check the rules below are what you want.
Hear it
Five short clips from one test call, each with the line it put on the order. The first two both show “just adds it”. The caller is us.
Caller “Can I get a California roll with no cucumber?”
Assistant “One California Roll, no cucumber. You got it.”
Caller “Another California roll with the extra avocado?”
Assistant “Another California roll with extra avocado. You got it.”
Caller “A Philly roll, but instead of the smoked salmon, could you do fresh salmon?”
Assistant “Substituting fresh salmon would be a paid extra of two dollars. Is that okay?”
Caller “A chicken pad Thai, medium. Can you do it without any egg?”
Assistant “We can't leave out the egg. It sticks to the wok without it. Would you like it as it comes?”
Caller “A Rock'n Roll, but can you do that gluten free?”
Assistant “One Rock'n Roll, with a note for gluten free. The restaurant will check that, since frying changes the dish.”
